The mission of the Shaw School is to teach the artistic technique originated by Ruth Faison Shaw, the artist-educator who introduced Shaw Finger-Paint to the world in 1931, and to provide a venue for an expressive medium to encourage personal growth and healing. Our philosophy is that "artistic self-expression is our birthright, not exclusive to a narrow segment of society."
